Note: If excessive belly in the top is determined to be the cause, this will need to be addressed for a proper repair. You will be apprised of this up front along with cost to fix prior to doing any work. This often goes along with high action and improper neck angle.
(this can reduce belly and add stability to the top)
(Re-string may be required)
INCLUDES: inspection for cause of cracking, humidifying the guitar (often the cause), clamping and gluing the crack together, gluing cleats (if necessary) to the underside to improve stability, applying a sealcoat or CA to the finish side. headstock still attached (Setup and nut replacement are often needed with a headstock repair)
Add $25 if headstock is completely broken off
Add $75 if routing and installation of splines are needed (often done for short grain breaks, not all broken headstocks benefit from this)
INCLUDES: clean up of the crack area to ensure correct mating of surfaces, gluing the pieces back together and applying a clear coat or oil to the exposed wood for protection. When completed, the repair will be as strong or stronger than the original wood and not be readily noticeable to touch. Visibility can vary depending on the nature of the repair.
